Aida Arroyo has filed a lawsuit against Lowe’s Home Centers after he allegedly slipped and fell while shopping in his local hardware store. According to the lawsuit, he slipped and fell near a bank of cash registers where an employee was using detergent to assist in the cleanup of gum on the floor.
Arroyo says it was sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. when he was injured inside the Gretna, Louisiana hardware store. He was walking near a bank of cash registers when he tried to avoid an employee who was cleaning gum off the floor. While attempting to step around the employee, Arroyo slipped and fell on a puddle of detergent on the floor, presumably being used to clean the gum. According to Arroyo, he has suffered severe back and muscle injuries as a result of the fall.
Arroyo has filed a lawsuit against the hardware company seeking an unspecified amount of damages for pain and discomfort, mental anguish, pain and suffering, inconvenience and lost wages. According to the lawsuit, Lowe’s was negligent by failing to warn of an unreasonable risk of injury and failing to hire and train employees who will act reasonably and prudently.
