Mississippi Woman Found Guilty of Fraud for Slip and Fall Claim.

A woman from Southaven, Mississippi pleaded guilty this month to charges of insurance fraud after she staged a fake slip and fall injury at the Ramada Inn in Horn Lake, MS.

36 year-old Tracey Davidson received $3,440 from the Nationwide Insurance Company for her “injuries” in the incident.

Authorities say she pretended to slip and fall in a bathtub at the Ramada Inn.  However, when she reported the incident, she was not wet, there was no water in the bathtub, and the screws attached to the tub had been tampered with.

Davidson was convicted at trial as a habitual offender due to her past convictions for similar scams, resulting in stricter sentencing.

Davidson will be required to pay $1000 in fines and to repay more than $7000 in insurance, medical and investigative costs.
