The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a voluntary recall of an Old Navy children’s product due to the slip and fall hazards it poses.
Old Navy’s Toddler Girl Aqua Socks have been recalled because they have insufficient traction when worn on wet or smooth surfaces, according to the CPSC. Two customers wearing the socks have reported falls with minor personal injuries that did not require medical attention.
The recall includes Old Navy Toddler Girl Aqua Socks with style number 896452. A small tag inside the foot opening contains the style number (896452), size information and country of origin (China).
About 34,000 of these units were sold in America, and an additional 3,800 were sold in Canada, between February and June 2012. The socks sold for between $12 and $15.
Consumers are directed to immediately stop using these socks and return them to any Old Navy store for a full refund. Consumers who return the socks before November 9, 2012 will also receive a coupon for $10 off their next purchase at Old Navy.
