A resident of Beaumont, Texas, Jose Zamarripa, has filed a negligence slip and fall personal injury lawsuit against Wal-Mart. The lawsuit is based on the allegations that employees of a local Wal-Mart store were negligent in maintaining the premises, and caused Zamarripa to suffer serious slip and fall injuries.
Zamarripa filed a slip and fall lawsuit for personal injury damages on Thursday, November 14, 2013 in Jefferson County District Court. In his complaint, Zamarripa alleges that he was shopping at a Wal-Mart store in Beaumont, Texas on January 18, 2012, when he slipped on a liquid substance that had been previously spilled on the floor. Zamarripa suffered extensive personal injuries as a result of the unfortunate slip and fall accident.
In the complaint, Zamarripa claims that Wal-Mart employees allowed the spillage to remain unattended for an extensive period of time, made no efforts to clean up the aisle, and posted no signage warning of the dangerous condition in which the floor was left.
Zamarripa is seeking monetary compensation for medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering.
