Hiker Killed By State Park Slip And Fall.

Monday afternoon, a young man was pronounced dead at a Pennsylvania tourist attraction in Carbon County. According to first responders, this is hardly the first time they have been called to an accident at the Glen Onoko Falls in Lehigh Gorge State Park in Pennsylvania.

Twenty-year-old Jesse Crossley was hiking with a group of friends when he slipped and fell an estimated twenty-five feet into a bed of rocks. Although rescue crews reported to the scene as quickly as they could, and performed CPR on the man, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. According to first responders, accidents are far too common along this dangerous trail. Just last August, a New York woman died in the same area during a hike of her own.

Because the creek is near the trail, the rocks are always slippery and covered in overgrown moss. Although there are signs lining the trail warning hikers of the potential hazards, hikers often want to get closer to the falls and end up slipping.
