A Pennsylvania man has recently been awarded $670,000 in compensatory damages for the personal injuries he suffered while sliding down a Sesame Place water park slide in Pennsylvania. Originally, the figure had been estimated at $995,200, but that amount was later reduced when the park was found to be only 68 percent at fault for the injuries sustained by Onix Agosto.

The incident took place on Memorial Day, 2011 when Mr. Agosto visited the park and chose to ride on the Bert & Ernie Slip and Slide. It has since been reported that Mr. Agosto wore socks when he decided to go down the slide, and no one at the park asked him to remove them before entering the slip and slide. As a result, during his travel down the slide, the sock covering his right foot got caught in the slide. He suffered a spiral fracture in his ankle and other injuries. He has since been to numerous medical appointments and continuous to require medical care. Due to his medical condition, he has been unable to maintain a steady job. His doctors have suggested that, in the future, Mr. Agosto may require ankle replacement surgery.
