World Trade Center BASE Jumpers Arrested For Stunt.

Police in New York City have identified and arrested three men for BASE jumping from the World Trade Center tower in New York last fall. It took months of investigation to find the culprits.

Last fall, a video on the sharing website Youtube went viral. In the video, three men jump off the 105th floor of the World Trade Center tower in downtown Manhattan. The tower is 1,776 feet tall — not a coincidence. The three daredevils glide through nighttime neon-lit New York using wing suits, before landing in various locations: one on the West Side Highway, two others near the Goldman Sachs building.

While most were amused by the thrill seekers and their performance, the NYPD had other thoughts. The police launched a months-long investigation, which culminated with an arrest on Monday, March 24, 2014 of three men on criminal charges of reckless endangerment, burglary and BASE jumping, which is a crime in New York.

The police say that the three jumpers placed pedestrians and drivers at risk of serious injury with their act and deserve to be prosecuted.
