Football Fan Falls To His Death At San Francisco 49ers Stadium.

In yet another fatal fall at a sports stadium, a football fan, described as a man in 30s, fell from a pedestrian walkway at the Candlestick Stadium on Sunday, September 8, 2013. The fatal fall is one of a dozen recent incidents around the country in which attendees of sporting events have died after falling from a height.

Witnesses recall that the fan appeared inebriated as he made his way outside of the stadium shortly after kick-off at approximately 1:30 p.m. The man was apparently walking around the elevated Jamestown walkway located on the outside of the stadium when he tripped and fell from the walkway. Off-duty medics and police officers rushed to the man’s aid. Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene of the trip and fall accident.

A representative from the San Francisco 49ers expressed condolences to the family of the man and stated that a review of the safety procedures at the stadium is underway. The 49ers are playing their last season at the Candlestick Stadium before moving to a $1.2 billion stadium in Santa Clara, California.
